Jo Cooley’s Art Story
I discover gourds in 1995. My creativity blossomed. I can look at a gourd and see what it will become. I have made masks, animals, people, musical instruments, bowls and sculptures. The tools I use are a small jigsaw, drill, dremel, wood burners, sander, various files and scrapers. I color the gourds with leather dyes, paint, stains, paper and weavings. I also use drift wood and other embellishments.
I am a member of Gallery Saratoga and have had a feathered artist show there for the last 8 years.
