I enjoy the excitement and energy generated in the creation of a painting. My passion lies in bringing together what I feel and see to the canvas. I like bold contrast and vibrancy and to elicit a mood. Oil painting allows me the freedom to blend one color atop another, apply thick or thin paint, and to affect a shiny or dull finish. I do not limit myself in media or style and prefer to remain open.

I grew up in the eastern United States but have lived the greater part of my life in California, Washington and Ohio. Throughout the years, I have held various corporate administrative positions in engineering, research, insurance, legal and medical fields, computer graphics, design, processing, telecommunications, software installation and teaching data and word processing. I have always been creative and found ways to wet my palette while working a job as ICS diploma in interior design, ceramics and the community. Whether my interest in art began in high school art class when I received a gold key in pastel or in all the books I destroyed with funny faces as a child, I felt artistic. At Ohio University, I avoided the arts in favor of employment opportunities and took Business/Computer Technology. However, my interest in art and photography peaked, when I became an office manager/art-photography coordinator for a multimedia company servicing publishers in the Midwest. Then, after moving to California, I went back to college to pursue a career in art. I enrolled in the fine arts department at Chabot College and began taking evening classes. Years later, I graduated in creative arts from DeAnza College, Cupertino, CA, with dual degrees in Art History and Painting.
